What’s the story Rory?
With the golf season in Ireland at its best between April and October, you’ve still got a few weeks to get out there and go for it.
That’s not to say you can’t play in Ireland all year round but let’s be honest, even our summers require a brolly and a cashmere!
Add to that the fact that Ireland is home to over 40% of the world’s links courses and you got one heck of a challenge on your hands.
You see, golf in Ireland is not for the faint-hearted. It can be brutal, there’s nothing gentle about this ‘gentleman’s game’ around these parts.
Perhaps that’s why we produce such strong golfers: like Rory McIlroy. After regaining the No. 1 spot from Jordan Spieth last week he’s only gone and lost it again to Jason Day at the BMW Championship in Chicago.
But he won’t let that lie. Oh no.
With 4 tournament wins in the last 5 months including the Open and the USPGA Championship, there’s everything still to play for.
As with most world number ones, (he held the top spot for 95 weeks) he’ll come back fighting. He’s got the FedEx Cup, the Ryder Cup and the Tour Championship by Coca- Cola in Atlanta - so watch this space.
And as if this guy hasn’t given enough…
The Rory Foundation is set to be associated with the European Tour, creating huge awareness for children’s charities around the world including the Co. Down based Cancer Fund for Children; so this guy not only is good he does good.
And that’s a true winner, in our opinion.
To get in some nail-biting, cliff-edge, heart-in-the-mouth links play in Ireland, give us a call and let us arrange it all.
